Intro To EdTech 543
Expectations for Spring 2019
I am not much of blogger, always thought about creating a blog but just never thought anyone would want tor read what I had to say. I was not sure how I wanted to take the blog for this class but after this weekend and the events that transpired in Washington DC, I feel I know now why this course is so important.
Social Media in the classroom can be a powerful tool that allows to students and teachers to connect with others from all reaches of the world. I am always reminded of the great quote from Spiderman "With great power comes great responsibility". This quote is so true about Social Media. From this class I hope to learn how other teachers not use it in their classroom but how are they teaching their students to use Social Media appropriately.
Not am I interested in how teachers are using Social Media, and teaching about it but how are teaching using it to help students determine what is propaganda, "fake news", or what is actual truth. I feel that Social Media has no become a primer to spread fear among many people, and people today seem to take what is on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as gospel. They do not want to take the time to do the research to find out what the whole story is.
